The Expo is a non-commercial Universal Exposition (it is therefore not a fair) organized by the winner Country of a special contest, involving the participation of other Countries, officially invited to join by the host Country.
The first Expo took place in London in 1851 and its success prompted other nations to organize similar events, such as Paris Expo in 1889, famous for the building of the Eiffel Tower.
Each Expo is dedicated to a universally interesting topic.
The Expo takes place in a specifically equipped area and represents an opportunity to meet up, giving both participants and visitors the chance to share a unique knowledge experience and an innovative approach to the Expo subject.
The Expo focus is more on the interpretation of collective challenges that humanity is about to face, rather than merely presenting technology new reaches.
The International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) is the international organization that coordinates the frequency, quality and development of the exhibition; funded in Paris in 1928 by an international convention, today counts 157 participant Countries.
